シンガポール人デザイナー、アルヴィン・ホー（Alvin Ho）とクララ・コウ（Clara Koh）によって2002年に設立されたリサーチスタジオ、Atelier HOKO（アトリエ ホコ）による雑誌『Science of the Secondary（取るに足らない科学）』の第11巻。テーマは「バナナ（BANANA）」

「男根に近いその形が成長した大人の性的なイメージをかき立て、宗教的な人々や至極真っ当な人々からも非難されがちな存在であるバナナは、世界中で何百万人もの人々に愛されているフルーツである。大規模農業の恩恵を受け、この熱帯果実はほとんどの国でほぼ通年手に入るように生産されており、この象徴的な果物をまったく知らないという人はめったにいないほどである。人気はさておき、この黄色い果実の最も重要な側面のひとつは、多くの人間の人生の始まりと終わりにおいてその役割を担っていることである。柔らかくて簡単につぶせる食感は、歯の生え始めた赤ちゃんにも、歯の抜けたお年寄りにも食べやすい...」

本書は、作者が構想し発展させ続けている進行中のリサーチシリーズである。
