現代美術界で重要な賞の一つである「ターナー賞」を2017年に受賞した、イギリス人アーティスト、キュレーターであるルバイナ・ヒミッド（Lubaina Himid）の作品集。

本書は、「第61回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ国際美術展（2026年）」のイギリス館で作者が発表した大規模な絵画とインスタレーションを紹介する一冊である。

作者は、絵画、版画、インスタレーションを通して、人種、フェミニズム、そして文化的記憶を主題に探究を続け、とりわけ西洋文化の形成において見過ごされてきたブラック・コミュニティの移民たちの影響に光を当ててきた。本書では、作者ならではの鮮やかな色彩によって描かれた、幻想的かつ魔術的な空間を舞台とする複数パネルから成る大作絵画を中心に紹介する。

This book showcases the large-scale paintings and installations with which Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid will represent Great Britain at the British Pavilion in Venice in 2026.

In her paintings, prints and installations, Lubaina Himid explores race, feminism and our cultural memory, particularly the overlooked influence of Black immigrants on Western culture. For the British Pavilion in Venice, she has created large-scale, multi-panel paintings in surreal and magical settings in Himid's characteristically vivid colour palette.
