観客のスマートフォンを用いて進行する参加型のレクチャー・パフォーマンス「A Sexual History of the Internet」を記録したものである。観客は自分のスマートフォンに表示される引用文を順に読み上げながら講義を進めていく。こうして複数の声によって構成される語りが生まれ、引用を読み直す行為そのものがパフォーマンスとして機能する。

本書は再分配をめぐる実験でもある。（THIS BOOK IS AN EXPERIMENT）
ここには、インターネット、セックス、そしてセクシュアル・テクノロジーに対する理解を形づくってきた45人の引用が収録されている。本書が購入されると、その利益の一部は彼らに分配される。この試みは「引用分配（Citational Splits）」と呼ばれ、新しい引用とクレジットのあり方を提案するモデルである。

また、Instagramのストーリーズ形式をレクチャーとして用いるこのフォーマットは、「イェール美術学校（Yale School of Art）」で作者が担当したレクチャー・パフォーマンスのスタジオコース（2023年秋学期）において、デザイナーであり研究者でもあるフリオ・コレア（Julio Correa）が最初に考案したものである。作者はコレアと協働しながら、この形式を本書のためにさらに発展させた。

本書は出版プラットフォーム「メタレーベル（Metalabel）」によって初版5,000部が刊行された。

This Instagram-Stories-as-Lecture format was first conceived of by Julio Correa in Seu’s Lecture Performance studio course (Fall 2023) at Yale School of Art. Seu further developed this format, in collaboration with Correa, for A SEXUAL HISTORY OF THE INTERNET.
