NYMPH by Tereza Červeňová

スロバキア人ビジュアルアーティスト、テレザ・チェルヴェノヴァ(Tereza Červeňová)の作品集。

Nymph chronicles the two-year residency of artist Tereza Červeňová as she immerses herself in the transformation of the Warburg Institute in London.

Inspired by Aby Warburg’s Bilderatlas Mnemosyne, specifically his photograph of a woman walking in Settignano, Červeňová centers her work on the female figure, often inserting herself or the architects accompanying her into the evolving architectural landscape.

As Červeňová navigates the site, often shedding the constraints of her protective gear, her work comes to embody the act of transformation itself, reflecting the building's structural and surface changes. The photographs reveal her personal connection to the space, as well as the challenge to find her place within it.

Through this visual narrative, Nymph not only documents the physical refurbishment of the building but also explores deeper, more nuanced tensions between visibility and erasure, safety and vulnerability, while acknowledging the shared journey of women allowing themselves to take up space.
