Raffaella della Olga was born in Villasola (Cisano Bergamasco), near Bergamo, Italy. She lives and works between Paris and Haute-Isle, France.

For more than a decade she has worked with prepared typewriters to make unique books, using this limited mechanical tool to amplify space through the act of typing.
Expanding her field of abstraction, della Olga also works with geometric, patterned fabrics, which she incises at regular intervals. Draped over a neon tube, these fabrics acquire dimensionality, much as her books transform the flatness of the page.

In 2022 she began working in painting — her “vertical adventure” — developing a series of typed paintings based on the grid, conceived as a wall and typed on monochrome backgrounds. From this point a wide field of experimentation opened, ranging from purely black-and-white graphic structures to painterly effects produced entirely with the typewriter.
