「CORNERKIOSK PRESS」のディレクターであり、ノルウェー・オスロでアートギャラリー「MELK」を運営するノルウェー人アーティスト、ビャーン・ベア（Bjarne Bare）の作品集。庭のホースをどのように保管しているかはよく見かけるものであり、よく見落とされがちだが、社会全体に対するモラルの表れである。共有物であることが多く、放置されることで絡まったり傷ついたりしやすいが、うまく巻かれたホースは、次に使う人への配慮と、集団に対する適切な機能を示している。本書には、ロサンゼルス、オスロ、ブエノスアイレスの裏庭や歩道から集められた27の例が収められている。巻いたりほどかれているホースは、巻かれた形や色のバリエーションへの探求であると同時に、不在となっている使用者のどこか親密な横顔が見えてくる。
